Short Weekend Escape

Sorry I haven't had a lot of free time to review my travel posts at Bali Island 3 weeks ago. But I'm glad to share at least a few before too late.

As I mentioned in my previous post, this is such a weekend escape to attending my best friend's wedding party. We just spend 2 nights at a hotel in Jimbaran Hills. A very short trip I know. Because at the same time, I have to work my clinical life, and I don't want too over budget :p

That's why we just traveled around some tourist attractions that near by the hotel, one of the closest is Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Park. It's not my first time there, either my friends Sthefani and Margareth. So, what we had to do was just remembering some beauty spots to take photos.

He is Andre, from Aussie. He joined our tour around GWK, because we saw he was alone walking due to her grandma was sick. How cool that there's still a young boy today who want to invite his grandmother to go with. Then we didn't forget to take a photo with him :D

We cannot go too far, because in the same day we have to prepare to attending the party at afternoon. The party was fantastic! (read my previous post)

In another day, my friends and I didn't take the same flight to return. Because I was alone who have to be back to Medan, while others to Jakarta. So I didn't go along with them. I was looking for a beach which is nearby the airport, and Kuta Beach is the right answer! Then enjoying my beach life before it's time to go back to the city. Got my temporary tattoo and took some photos. Believe it or not, these photos were taken by some tourists around the beach I asked for help to capturing me. Hahaha seriously! I can be this kind of crazy if talking about travel photos.

Oh please ignore my bad hair day or uncontrolled face...
The result was surprising me! Different peoples with many different styles of capturing the photos. Some good, some bad, and others just xoxo. But I think, not bad at all. Beside got some photos, I also have the opportunity to share about my hometown in Sumatera and listened that they enjoyed their holiday here, and sharing the different culture. We talked a lot. Actually I feel shy to ask stranger people there at first, and I just remember one of them said,

"Oh no problem, it's okay as long as you don't offer me to learn surfing, surfing, and surfing. Hahaha"

LOL! As you know, Kuta is the world's Surfing Paradise, many surfers come here to be able to feel the powerful waves and oceans wild. Many locals also teach surfing for beginners, but in my case it was disturbing. They are too many, and too imposing us to join their class. In my opinion, surf is a kind of extreme sport that can not be learned by simple short course as that.
Tips for tourist: Prepare your best rejection!

At the end, I realize that my weekend would never be this easy...

Ocean of Love

I was thinking about a perfect outdoor party, when my high school friend Syuangelia, suddenly message me, telling that she want to get married soon with her great one. I just...speechless listening this good news, but also happy for her at the same time.

The ceremony will be held in Bali on the very first week of October. This is such a private party only for families and bestfriends. I respect her invitation so much, so I decided to go on Friday afternoon after my clinical activity, as a weekend escape.

On the night at her bridal shower dinner, we all the girls went around to a seafood restaurant, laughing and sharing our best bits of wedding planning advice. Preparing her as a bride to be. Our advice: Have a glass of wine before the ceremony! Hahaha.

The matrimony and also ceremony located in Klapa Restaurant, one of the most Bali's wonderful view. The sunset, the ocean's wind, and the sounds of wave are following make this romantic atmosphere more perfect...

The holy matrimony was held in a Buddhist way. I just touched at those moment, I can feel my watery eyes when they both saying the vows, to be faithful forever in a marriage bondage. I don't want to miss every single moment of this holy matrimony. Capturing this happy couple is so intrigue.

Bali is beautiful. But believe me when the sun goes down, it's even a little bit more beautiful!

We were the youngsters (exclude the bride and the groom) continued to after party at Harris hotel's rooftop and lounge, open a table to have some fun for a night. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen talked a lot all night long, even though we never know each others before. It was nice to meet these buddies.

Congratulation for Edwin & Syu! Wishing you both life happily ever after, be a tiny little family in harmony, peaceful, and get a baby soon :p

I hope someday I will have my dream wedding ceremony comes true! Saddhu.

》》》 More to come from my salty trip on the next post... Stay tuned!

Rukun Agawe Sentosa

Have an opportunity to representing North Sumatra in this national event. This event held every 4 years by PATRIA (Pemuda Theravada Indonesia). If you follow this blog from the first, you will remember that I ever join this tournament 4 and 8 years ago. But this year, I move to North Sumatra team, not my hometown (Lampung) anymore.

Pekan Olahraga & Seni Nasional (Porseni)
September 24th-27th, 2015
at Surakarta (Solo), Central Java

Theme: Rukun Agawe Sentosa
which means harmony brings peace.

There are 11 kinds of competition that competed in this event, including sports and arts. I thought I can play badminton and joined the tournament. But at this national level, I'm just like a little piece of cake and lost :(

It's not about winning. I'm already prepared for my lost since the first time. I tried and did my best to play badminton. This isn't my specialization. Ya you know, you can't be good and so multi-talented in every kind of sports. Hahaha, sorry I'm not your favorite badminton athlete...

The best part of joining this kinda national event is you could keep in touch with another contingents from around Indonesia. As reunion event and get some new friends from Sumatra to NTB. Sharing and listening their stories about life, religion spirits, and organization problems. I feel the experience, the euphoria. Something that we can't get just by sitting around at home.

Then, the game is not over...

A masal insanity. Party all night long. The yellow unites us all!
Congratulation Banten as the general champion for this season! See ya at the next Porseni 4 years later...

We had the first flight at the morning, then continued to travel along Yogyakarta-Solo road. We stopped by Borobudur and Mendut temple.

Some competition located at Vihara Dharma Sundara, one of the big beauty temple in Solo. When supporting another participants, we take time to catch these photos.

Actually, I'm not a mall person. But no doubt I'm a snack and culinary hunter. So, we make an sibling's escape to go craving for street food carnival in front of Paragon Mall.
Recommended dish: lekker!
For night escape, I recommend 'wedang jahe' as my favorite Javanese drink. It can be modified to be milk jahe with honey also. Very good for your body and health.

As you know, Surakarta also known as the city of culture. There are many historical place, built several centuries ago that still existing. One of the famous is Keraton Surakarta. It was a great dynasty in it's era. Divided into 4 gates with wind's direction: north, east, south, and west. It's an old building with a touch of classic, and don't know why I feel the magical aura inside.

Rhythm of The Sea

Listen to the rhythm of the sea...
Telling me just what a grateful I've been!

We went to Tangkil Island, Lampung on the last summer. Me, Like, Thomas, and our beloved father who faithfully accompanied us. Every year, it takes place at a time where my mind is full of high summer memories to keep on telling, especially my travel diary. But I almost have no spare time these current days, so let me share some beach photos from my gallery.

Blue skies, sparkling water, shady mangrove, and white sand. Walking barefoot across the white-sand of this island might make you feel like you are in one of the chicest luxury spas... Beach can always keep my mood in the highest level. Thanks God, I live in archipelago country!

This is what we call 'paradise dreaming'. If only I could live my perfect dream life, I'd be in a casual top every single day, enjoy reading some lifestyle magazines on a balcony overlooking my own private beach. Hmmm but as I said, that's just a DREAM life~

To go to the island, you need to rent a wooden boat for go and take you back after a few hours, or in some case they just want you to pay for each person. At holiday season, I think the cost is more expensive than usual. Luckily if there's many peoples want to go there, you can share the boat and of course it can lower the cost.

So many high fives, laughs, cheers, and smiles we shared all around. So many sunsets we've just been over washed with joy. Aaahh, I miss my summer time already >.<
See you on the next holiday trip!
