Welcoming The Year of Rooster means saying goodbye to my fire monkey year.
As an Indonesian born Chinese, I don't fully believe in Chinese zodiac, either its fortune or taboo things. But I respect it, and I read the horoscope book once in a while, although I never remember about what should I do and don't based on 'feng shui' experts prediction after I read it.
Chinese are very family oriented by culture. We're always taught to respect our parents first before hunting another "Ang Pao". Usually the younger visiting their older relatives, and the eldest one must be welcoming the guest by open house. I suppose this tradition has been familiar as normal practice that taught by among the tribes.
In my family, the tradition is still alive. Come to my grandma's house as the meeting point, then have a CNY eve dinner in a round table. The next day at the 1st day of Chinese Lunar always be the very noisy day. I can say that bringing all members of my crazy family together never be easy. Seeing they are already grow and older then watching them argue is super awesome. It's good to do it just once a year.
Sorry, it didn't seem like a normal family photograph. We will always have that, at least one trouble maker in every family... But I've tried my best to find the best one.
